•Bridge Baron 21 is the program we currently use. We reserve the right to change the program if deemed necessary ordesirable.•You play the exact same boards you would have been playing, had there been no sit-out. Your score against the computerDOES NOT count in the game.•The program is set up so that your partner is stronger than the opponents.•Both you and the program are limited to the basic Standard American Yellow Card (SAYC) which will always be availableat the computer stand.•You and your partner may confer on your bids and plays.•You bid and defend with one hand only. During the auction and on defense, you have a “robot” partner as well as “robot”opponents.•When you buy the contract, you play both declarer’s hand and dummy against two “robot” defenders. When you play the computer the following conditions apply:When we first began entering the computer into the game, everyone loved it. It was so much better than sitting out around. Scores counted in the game, and nobody had any problem with that. Unfortunately, the ACBL, with their typical short-sightedness, has decided that it is a bad idea for a bridge club to offerthis option to its players (even though their sanctioned online games accept “robot” players all the time). They told us we could not do this in ACBL sanctioned games. Therefore, while you will still be able to play the boardsyou miss on the computer, your scores will no longer count in the game.
