Bridge Baron 21 is the program we currently use. We reserve the right to change the program if deemed necessary or desirable. You play the exact same boards you would have been playing, had there been no sit-out. Your score against the computer            DOES NOT count in the game. The program is set up so that your partner is stronger than the opponents. Both you and the program are limited to the basic Standard American Yellow Card (SAYC) which will always be available at the computer stand. You and your partner may confer on your bids and plays. You bid and defend with one hand only. During the auction and on defense, you have a “robot” partner as well as “robot” opponents. When you buy the contract, you play both declarer’s hand and dummy against two “robot” defenders. When you play the computer the following conditions apply: Playing the computer When we first began entering the computer into the game, everyone loved it. It was so much better than sitting out a round. Scores counted in the game, and nobody had any problem with that. Unfortunately, the ACBL, with their typical short-sightedness, has decided that it is a bad idea for a bridge club to offer this option to its players (even though their sanctioned online games accept “robot” players all the time). They told us we could not do this in ACBL sanctioned games. Therefore, while you will still be able to play the boards you miss on the computer, your scores will no longer count in the game.
